5 reasons your child should get involved in our Summer Camps this year!
Registration for this year's Summer Camps is now open! Sea Smart's week-long outdoor camps are filled with exciting games and activities designed to ignite curiosity and foster a love for the ocean.
Here are five reasons why your child should take part this year:
1. Explore the great outdoors!
Our camps take place at beautiful Kitsilano Beach and Trout Lake Park. They provide an opportunity for children to get out and explore nature in a fun and safe outdoor environment. Your child will have the chance to connect with nature and appreciate the beauty of our ocean.
2. Gain new knowledge and curiosity in STEAM 🔬
Our team of knowledgeable Ocean Educators will teach your kids about the impact of human activities on marine ecosystems. Campers will have the opportunity to develop scientific skills, learn about marine ecosystems, identify fascinating creatures, and conduct their own research projects. In addition to gaining knowledge in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM).
3. Take part in a range of fun activities
Each of our camps features a variety of games, crafts, experiments, and exploration to promote an understanding and appreciation for the natural world and ensure diverse learners are connecting with the program material. Sea Smart summer camps include:
Arts and crafts
Beach and nature explorations
Educational games related to a daily theme
Learning framed by the scientific method
Hands-on conservation actions

Campers will be placed in groups of children their own age and will work on group tasks designed to build confidence and knowledge. At Sea Smart, We are committed to inclusivity and diversity, ensuring our programs are accessible to all. We also have an optional girls-only program which aims to address the significant under-representation of girls in science-related fields.

At Sea Smart, our mission is to get youth excited about our ocean and empower them to be ocean heroes! At our camps, we teach your kids how to protect our environment and build a lifelong bond with our incredible ocean.
