Start off the month of June by joining Sea Smart and Knowledge Carrier Lorelei Lyons for a Plant Medicine Walk! The walk will begin with a circle at Aintree House and continue along the Brunette River. A variety of Indigenous medicines will be found, and Lorelei will share stories about the river, the trees, the plants and how they have helped people for thousands of years. While learning about these extraordinary plants, we will also be cleaning the ecosystem by picking up any garbage or recycling along the way. We will end the workshop by learning the Algonquin Women’s Water song and reflecting on the importance of freshwater in our lives.
