Ocean Design Lab

Hands-on corporate workshop

Ocean Design Lab is an exciting, interactive ocean team-building workshop designed to ignite curiosity and foster a passion for ocean conservation. This innovative program focuses on educating participants about the environmental damage caused by bottom trawling and challenges them to create solutions. Participants will work together to redesign bottom trawling nets, aiming to minimize environmental impact, while building and testing prototypes in a fun and competitive environment.

Using provided materials and a pretend budget, participants will collaborate in teams to design and construct improved nets. Throughout the process, they’ll engage in problem-solving and teamwork, gaining valuable insights into how different fields can come together to address complex environmental challenges.

This two-hour interactive ocean team-building workshop begins with an informative presentation that highlights the environmental consequences of bottom trawling. Participants will then put their new knowledge to work by redesigning nets, building prototypes, and testing them in a friendly competition. Ocean Design Lab is an engaging, hands-on experience that empowers participants to actively contribute to creating a more sustainable future.

We recommend no more than 30 participants per workshop so everyone can engage in discussions.
